London Marathon 2016 - Timelapse Course

It was fantastic!

I will really try to get a place for the race next year. I know it will be hard work, but why not?
The London Marathon is unique among international sporting events in that ordinary people - people just like you or me - can compete and join in with the best in the world. How many people can say they've had a kick about with Leonel Messi or a game of tennis with Serena Williams? Yet, over the years, more than 960000 people can say they've race against some of the top runners like Paula Radcliffe, Ingrid Kristiansen, Haile Gebrselassie and Mo Farah.

I got a nice spot, one block from the Queens Elizabeth II Conference Centre. That part of the course was not too crowded with spectators and I have a perfect view of the hundreds of runners, all with different stories or aims for running the marathon. A very beautiful party.

Timelapse video of the London Marathon Course:

Just to let you know that the public ballot entry system for the 2017 London Marathon will open to all applicants at www.virginmoneylondonmarathon.com on Monday 2nd May 2016. This ballot system will close at 17pm on Friday 6th May 2016.

You can find loads of videos on youtube about the London Marathon but I found this one very nice, linked to a charity as well and not too long. The name of the runner is Lee Sullivan. So if you didn't have the opportunity to be there yesterday, you can still feel the vibe of the race on this video.

Run and smile!

Bishops Park is a park in Fulham, south-west London. The park was opened by the London County Council in 1893, on land given by the Ecclesiastical Commissioners. It is listed Grade II on the register of parks and gardens of special historic interest maintained by English Heritage.
The park runs north of the River Thames from All Saints church along a broad tree-lined avenue and an embankment path along the river, and ends at Bishop’s Park Road. It contains tennis courts and bowling greens, with another small park area fronting Fulham Palace Road. It is adjacent to Fulham Palace and Fulham Football club.
A memorial to members of the International Brigade who volunteered to fight in the Spanish Civil War has been located within the park since 1997.
The park has a poolside beach and facilities for basketball, tennis, table tennis, lawn bowling and skating, and hosts a farmers' market.
Scenes from the 1976 horror film The Omen were shot on location in the park.
